NE I-Corps is partnering with URI Ventures to offer NE I-Corps @ Rhode Island. This program is part of the National Science Foundation initiative to help move innovations to market. It is a free, 3-week interactive program to help researchers and engineers learn the skills necessary to engage in informed product development and explore the potential applications of their new technologies.

Polaris MEP (Manufacturing Extension Partnership) is the division of URI Ventures providing competitive manufacturing business improvement programs to grow Rhode Island’s manufacturing industry. Polaris MEP provides a wide array of growth services to the manufacturing industry in the state, including a direct connection to the University of Rhode Island for R&D, testing, and more.

The lab investigates the degradation of materials and methods, such as coatings, to mitigate the degradation of materials. Interests include mechanisms of corrosion, corrosion assisted fatigue, hydrogen embrittlement, chromate alternatives, adhesive bonding, residual properties after explosions, biocomposites and failure analysis.
